IN JUST ONE DAY?

YOUR VIP DAY - WHAT TO EXPECT

When you sign up for an author VIP Day with me, I clear my schedule to work with you for 6 hours in one day (PLUS a one-hour follow-up session to address any sticky points that come up for you once you have everything set up). Here's what you can expect:

A week before we meet I will send you a questionnaire to fill out along with a list of material to collect and have ready so we can make as much progress as possible during our time together. This will include images, a list of existing assets, and a short list of websites you admire (for inspiration).

We will begin your VIP Day with a quick review of what you already have and a review of your biggest priorities. From there we devise a plan for the day and get to work. Each VIP Day is custom-designed for each writer, but here is a list of a few of the things I can help you with:

reserve an easy-to-remember url
establish some basic branding (what colors, fonts, images you want to use)
build your website or make an existing website more professional
include a press kit to promote your work
create a blog that looks great and is easy to maintain
brainstorm an editorial calendar so you never have to wonder what to write
learn how to write content that will bring in readers
master SEO to boost your site in Google search returns

sign up for a newsletter service and import your existing contacts
create a branded newsletter template to match your website
learn how to entice readers to sign up for your newsletter
establish social media accounts (I suggest focusing on one or two)
Leverage your social media following to increase traffic to your website
use a social media scheduler to keep your audience engage without having to spend your life scrolling

You're starting from scratch

You have bits and pieces, but nothing cohesive

we will talk through what's working and what isn't
decide what branding you want to go with and create assets in Canva to unify all the various components of your platform
establish (or rebrand) a blog and create an editorial calendar so that the content you create is all on theme and can be used in newsletters, social media, etc
set up a social media scheduler so that you can have a regular presence online without spending your life scrolling
devise a plan for you to grow your audience

You have a website you love, but nobody visits it

we will establish a compressive plan for how to build your audience
build out a blog (if you don't have one)

You're preparing to query agents

we will create a website that showcases you and your work in the best possible light,

A week before your VIP Day I will send you an extensive questionnaire to fill out and a list of material to collect so that we can be as productive as possible in our 6 hours together.

On your special day, I will guide you in building your online author platform, prioritizing our tasks based on your goals, and advising you every step of the way.

You will control all of the content with your own logins and accounts. At the end of the day, your sparkly new platform will be completely yours.

Before we part ways, we will schedule an additional one-hour follow-up meeting for us to address any questions that come up once you start working with your new platform.

I now have a website, blog and newsletter. She is amazingly proficient in patiently explaining all the steps of the technical processes involved, even to this "technophobe"!
