My first job out of grad school was as a website designer and social media manager.
Late at night, back in my home office, I applied what I learned on the job to building my own award-winning website and over the years I grew myself an audience of over 20,000 readers before I even published my first book.
After I quit the day job to write full time, I continued to build my platform by watching hundreds of YouTube videos, bingeing podcasts, and reading everything I could get my hands on about how to build an author platform. I've learned A LOT and this fall I'm offering 4 exclusive, VIP Days to share what I've learned and help authors get their own platforms in order.

At the end of this intensive VIP Day you will have an awesome author platform that is completely in your hands!
As we go through our day, I will walk you through every step, helping you to avoid common mistakes and time-sucking pitfalls. You will do the work, so that you know how to edit and update your assets in the future as needed. You will control all of the content with your own logins and accounts. It will all be completely yours.
To make sure everything continues to run smoothly, we will book a one-hour follow-up meeting to address any questions that come up after your VIP Day. You will also get a recording of our time together so that you can review anything we discussed at any time. I will include a written list of time stamps (for instance: Hour 3, minute 25, we began working with your newsletter sign-up form) so you can easily find what you need with little hassle.
WHAT YOU WILL NOT GET
This is not a lame, get-millions-of-followers kind of deal. You will not get millions of followers in a day. You will not even get thousands. What you will get is my own tried-and-true method for building an engaged, devoted following that will grow steadily over time, supporting you in your writing career as it likewise grows and expands.
This is also not the beginning of an ongoing work-for-hire agreement. I will get you set up with all the assets and help you to create a plan to maintain your online presence. If you are looking to hire a website manager, ghost writer, or social media manager I am happy to refer you to other professionals who provide these kinds of ongoing services.
The earlier you start building your author platform the better. I started my blog in 2010 and didn't publish my first book until 2020, but by then I had built a large, loyal following. I have no doubt my platform helped me to get my first publishing deal.
It's never too late. While getting started sooner is always better, we can do a lot in a day. Having a professional website with a newsletter sign-up form will help you build up your audience for your next book.
A lot. In our time together we will be hyper-focused on getting the work done. A week before we meet, I will send you a list of things to compile ahead of time so that we don't waste time. You will be amazed how much progress you can make in building your platform when you have someone to guide and advise you every step of the way.
