The Sit Write Here Mindful Writing Community
is designed to provide daily support on your writing journey.

SIT: Every co-writing session starts with 15 minutes of insight meditation to help you let go of distractions and find focus.
WRITE: Then we write for one hour. When you carve out one focused hour,on a regular basis, you make steady progress toward finishing your work.
HERE: After we write, we talk for a few minutes about how it's going. We also have weekly Q&A sessions and we meet up in person whenever we can at writing conferences.
Attend one meeting a week for 8 weeks and get professional feedback on up to 4,000 words (more details below).



BETTER THAN A WORKSHOP
The workshop model is outdated. It was designed in the mid-20th century for an academic audience that was almost exclusively young, white, and cis-gendered male. But here's the thing: even if you are young, white, and male you will benefit (creatively, professionally, socially), as we all do, from being around different kinds of writers. DAILY WRITING SESSIONS
Every day at 9:30 am PT
Our 90-minute co-writing sessions begin with a guided 15-minute meditation to help you center and prepare for focused writing. After 60 minutes of dedicated writing time, we wrap up with 15 minutes to connect, celebrate, and share.
PROFESSIONAL FEEDBACK ON YOUR PAGES
Attend just one meeting a week for 8 consecutive weeks and earn yourself a SANGHA TOKEN. Trade in your token for professional feedback on up to 4,000 words of your manuscript, or save them up to submit more pages at once. Tokens are good for one year and there's no limit to how many you can earn.
WEEKLY Q&A SUPPORT
Wednesdays at 11 am PT
This is where writers get live, personalized support from seasoned coaches and peers. And if you miss a session, don't worry. All Q&A meetings are recorded and available on-demand.

The mindful writing community is for all kinds of writers. We have fiction writers, memoirists, screenwriters, science writers, poets, and some who just can't decide. We are all at different stages of our writing journey, from retired hobbyists to published authors and everything in between. If you write, you're a writer, and you belong here.
No worries! All our mastermind sessions, including our guest speakers, are recorded and available to watch on your schedule. You can email a question ahead of time and get your answer in the recording that evening. You’ll never miss out on valuable guidance and community support.
Our daily writing sessions are 90 minutes (15 minutes of meditation, 60 minutes of writing, and 15 minutes of social time), but you can arrive late or leave early if you need to (some writing is always better than no writing!).
In fact, most of our members don't come to every session. Most choose 2-4 meetings a week to put on their calendar and attend regularly.
Even if you only attend twice a week, you'll find that committing to those sessions every week makes a huge difference in your writing progress.
Each daily writing session starts with a 15-minute guided meditation to help you calm your mind, focus, and enter a creative flow state. This mindfulness practice is designed to ease any mental blocks, helping you tap into deeper creativity and productivity for your writing time.
We strive to make the Mindful Writing Community accessible and welcoming to all writers. We have structured our meetings based on the principals outlined in the Anti-Racist Writing Workshop and Craft in the Real World. We ask that all community members read and agree to our Agreements for Community Interactions.
Not at all! Each meditation is beginner-friendly and guided, so you don’t need prior experience with mindfulness. These practices are designed to make it easy for anyone to relax, focus, and get into a productive flow.
